Happy Fourth Commandment Day!!! by Kimberly Koerber-Bauer-Koerber

There is a Merry-Go-Round in the new park off of Broad Street where
bright pink brochures described below were posted on cars.
A white Carousel horse and a brown Carousel horse are painted on the wall
inside of the newly refurbished garden area or backyard of Faith Mission as
a major improvement there.  Burlington, N.C. nas a similar Merry go Round with other rides in a city park.
A copper/brass Carousel was given to me by a Social Service Agency whom I did volunteer work for while I was pregnant with my son, who is now 26, as a Christening present.
In Downtown Columbus, Ohio near the new park off of Broad Street, a string of cars was papered with shocking pink brochures saying "Happy Fourth Commandment Day!!!"  Below that the words "Friday - Sundown to Saturday - Sundown " appear.  After that the word Remember.......followed by Genesis 2:2-3, Exodus 20:8-11, Isiah 58:13-14, Hebrews 4:2-12.

What does all of this mean exactly?

Genesis Chapter 2, verses 2 and 3:
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had crested from all his work which God created and made.
Exodus Chapter 20: verses 8, 9, 10, 11:
Exodus 20:8-11: The Sabbath day is a Holy day. What does it mean to be Holy? To be Holy meansto be set apart for God. The Sabbath day represents the ultimate in perfection and righteousness in all of God’s creation. The key to understanding the meaning of the Sabbath lies in verse 11. “For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” At the end of the sixth day of creation, the work was finished, it was totally complete, it was good, it was perfect. There was not a single flaw or imperfection to be found. Thus, when you enter into God’s Sabbath (seventh) day, you are symbolically entering into God’s perfection. Thus, God takes the Sabbath very seriously. For the people of Israel, the Sabbath was their only means of entering into God’s ‘rest.’ The penalty for disobedience was death. Why? Because in making light of the Sabbath, you made light of God’s Holiness and perfection. If you left behind that Holiness, you might as well be dead, because it was your only means of entering into the righteousness of God. As you take all this in, remember that we, who put our faith in Jesus, are no longer under the written law.
Isaiah 58:13-14

13 “If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath,
from doing your pleasure [1] on my holy day,
and call the Sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
or seeking your own pleasure, [2] or talking idly; [3]
14 then you shall take delight in the Lord,
and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; [4]
I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Hebrews 4:3-12

3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,
“As I swore in my wrath,
‘They shall not enter my rest,’”
although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” 5 And again in this passage he said,
“They shall not enter my rest.”
6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,
“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God [1] would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Apparently, there are a group of very religious conservative types who believe that Saturday is the Sabbath, and found Bible verse to back this up.  This group has not yet been identified.  At least they actually stand for something other than violence and racketeering. :)

In addition to these nice things, We also hear on a regular basis abusive people and some kind of unwanted sexual rhetoric.  We had a big problem here in Columbus, Ohio with Ignorant Jews ripping people off and causing trouble in the past in addition to other Gangster types causing trouble.  Maybe Columbus is trading one thing for another.  Why would crooks like these need any money anyhow?

Great IDEA, Columbus, Ohio and Great new park!  Funding for this project had to come from somewhere, and the project will need continued funding.
