This is a poster of Emmett Kelly, The Sad Clown from the Barnum and Bailey Circus. Many of these clown pictures and relics date to well over one hundred years.

In the picture above, Mr Kelly is in tattered clothing, and is a sad hobo.
Dorothy Day House, in Rochester, Minnesota had a quilt with many squares on the wall in the basement. The faces there were of a sad female clown, wearing different hats. Since being robbed and made homeless by unprosecuted crooks, this could become my life.
